(Dr. Pipim’s Report on the 2018 “Africa Haguruka” Conference, Kigali, Rwanda, July 8-15, 2018)
The landscape of Rwanda is one of the most beautiful in the world. Its people are among the most gentle and religious. Yet, this beautiful and seemingly calm and devout country carries a very dark and ugly history: The 1994 Genocide against the Tutsis. In the space of just about 3 months (100 days), some 1 million people were murdered. But despite this most ugly and evil chapter in its history, today, Rwanda has become a beacon of hope to the rest of Africa. It is emerging as one of the cleanest, safest, and most developed African countries.
For almost two decades now, its national capital and largest city, Kigali, has been the venue of an annual event that offers hope. One that proclaims a message of an Africa that ought to rise—and is rising. This event is themed “Africa Haguruka” or Africa Arise.

(Highlights & Reflections on My Missionary Trip to Gabon)

Of the many missionary engagements I have been privileged to embark upon during the past 6+ years, my most recent trip to Gabon, Central Africa, is by far the most impactful in influencing the influencers. I was invited as a guest speaker to an Evangelical Missionary Conference, in Port-Gentil, Gabon, from April 8-15, 2018. This brief report provides highlights of the missionary conference, and explains the urgency of reaching out to the influential ranks of society.
The French acronym for the conference is CEMAC (Convention Evangelique Missionaire de l'Afrique Centrale).
