WHY DRPIPIM.ORG?

Drpipim.org is a response to numerous and persistent requests from around the world for the author's apologetic materials on some of the hotly debated issues in the church. This page briefly explains the need for the website. 

Today, almost every Christian denomination is being infected by secular ideologies that often masquerade as sound doctrine.  Because the purveyers of these ideologies tend to hold positions of authority--either as pastors, professors, church leaders, administrators, authors and editors--they are able to employ their influence to propagate their questionable views and practices without any serious biblical scrutiny.

In many cases, sincere, Bible-believing Christians are often caught off-guard by the subtle and plausible-sounding arguments often advanced in favor of the questionable teachings and practices.  Moreover, in places where such ideologies have been entrenched, opposing views have not always been welcome, even if those views are biblical.  Faithful Bible students and leaders who courageously stand up against those questionable views are often vilified, if not persecuted. 

As a result of these and other factors, today a fog of doctrinal uncertainty, shallow thinking and compromising practices is settling upon certain quarters of our church.  Drpipim.org is an attempt to offer some clarity and biblical direction to some of the controversial issues dividing the church.  It is designed to defend sound biblical teaching, by counteracting the false.  It brings together in one location some of the author's published and unpublished materials--some of which, until now, were not readily available or accessible. When fully operational, this website will also point readers to other Bible-based and spiritually-edifying resources.

Given the purpose of this site, two points need to be underscored: First, the issues addressed on this website are not about personalities, but about biblical truth.  Those unfamiliar with scholarly discussions may question the legitimacy of Drpipim.org's citing and reviewing published works put out by thought leaders of the church.  However, references to these published materials should be seen as objective or scholarly citations.  It is a well-established fact that whenever people publicize their views in print they automatically invite others to subject their works to careful scrutiny.  Taking issue with published works does not involve questioning the sincerity of their authors as well-meaning thought-leaders of the church. 

Second, the candid evaluation of certain positions does not mean an expression of personal dislike for those whose works are being reviewed.  (In some cases--as in women's ordination and racially-segregated conferences in the USA--the author of drpipim.org vigorously critiques the views of individuals he counts as his friends. One of the best expressions of true friendship is to encourage one's friends  to re-evaluate their positions in the light of serious Bible study). Furthermore, challenging those authors on specific issues does not mean that whatever they have written in other areas is necessarily suspect or invalid.

The Word of God urges us to "prove all things (and) hold fast to that which is good" (1 Thessalonians 5:21).  Consistent with this admonishing, readers of this page should not consider any theological views--including those of the author of this webpage--to be off-limits to serious biblical investigation.  Thus, the author of drpipim.org welcomes those who make a painstaking effort to refute the arguments on this website.  He will also apreciate the labors of those who offer compelling scriptural correctives to the positions he has advanced in the various articles on this website.  For we are told:

"God will have a people upon the earth to maintain the Bible and the Bible only, as the standard of all doctrines and the basis of all reforms.  The opinions of learned men, the deductions of science, the creeds or decisions of ecclesiastical councils, as numerous and discordant as are the churches which they represent, the voice of the majority--not one nor all of these should be regarded as evidence for or against any point of religious faith.  Before accepting any doctrine or precept, we should demand a plain "Thus saith the Lord" in its support" (E.G. White, The Great Conroversy, p. 595).

Welcome to DrPipim.org, a website that seeks to restore among Bible-believing Christians the spirit of the early Bereans (Acts 17:10, 11), by subjecting contemporary views to the test of the Holy Scriptures. Expect to be informed, challenged, and blessed!
